Nevada Humane Society Carson City’s Pet of the Week: Rousey the Rooster

Nevada Humane Society Carson City’s Pet of the Week: Rousey the Rooster

Meet Rousey, our Pet of the Week! At just 10 months old, this handsome rooster is full of personality and ready to find his forever home.

Rousey came to us after being found in the field by our HEOs (Humane Enforcement Officers) and has been searching for the right place to call his own. He’s looking for a home that can give him a little extra space to stretch his wings and settle in comfortably.

While he hasn’t fully bonded with his current coop-mates, he could thrive in a setting where he has time to adjust and get to know his new flock.

Roosters like Rousey can make wonderful additions to a backyard or small farm. Known for their protective nature, they often act as guardians for the flock, keeping an eye out for predators and helping to establish order among the hens.

Just make sure you are within county guidelines so you can properly bring home your new best friend! If you have questions about these guidelines, please give us a call at (775) 887-2171. We’re here to help!

If you’re ready to give Rousey the fresh start he deserves, visit our Carson City campus today at 549 Airport Road or visit our website to learn more about adopting him. With the right environment and a little time, Rousey could be the great addition to your flock and a rewarding companion in your chicken-keeping journey.

Pet of the Week is submitted by the Nevada Humane Society featuring pets waiting for their new homes at the Carson City campus. They are located at 549 Airport Road, Carson City. Visit them in person Tuesday – Saturday, 11 a.m. – 6:30 p.m., online or by calling 775-887-2171.
