Nevada DMV rolls out new Registration Spotter
- October 12, 2025

The Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) has recently added a Nevada Registration Spotter report form on their website, which is intended solely for the purpose of reporting motor vehicles operating on Nevada roadways with expired, invalid or no registration, including Nevada residents operating vehicles with illegal out-of-state plates.
“I think this report form is so beneficial in so many ways,” said Compliance Enforcement Division (CED) Chief J.D. Decker. “We get so many calls, inquiries, and complaints daily about civilians noticing unregistered vehicles on the roads and what can be done about it and now we finally have a solution.”
Please note, this report form is not intended for:
— Abandoned vehicles
— Traffic violations or unsafe driving
— Stolen vehicles (contact law enforcement immediately)
— Parking violations
— Other DMV-related issues
All submitted reports will be reviewed by CED, who will also share data with other local law enforcement jurisdictions.
“Nevada is one of the first states to really have this form come to fruition and now civilians can help others by ensuring all motorists stay safe on our roads,” added Decker.
