Nancy Benoit

With profound sadness we announce the passing of Nancy E. (Licastro) Benoit, our loving and devoted wife, mother, aunt and friend who passed away in her home on Thursday, June 5th, 2025, at the age of 72, with her loving husband of 51 years, Stephen by her side.

Nancy was born in Southbridge, MA on January 17, 1953, daughter of the late Domonic and Dorthay Jean (Radford) Liscastro.

Nancy graduated from Marin Hill Central Catholic High School. She worked at Putnam High School as a Paraprofessional for ten years and worked for FRS in Dudley, MA for ten years as a case manager, retiring due to illness. She belonged to the Quinebaug Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, having served as the treasurer for many years. She was also a board member and treasurer for pinkhippy.org and volunteered for Day Kimball Hospital Northeast Hospice and Palliative Care for many years as well.

Nancy loved her flowers in her yard and doing crafts. She got most pleasure out of helping other people and making them smile and feel wanted.

Those who knew Nancy, even just a little, lost a shining light in their lives. When you think of Nancy, celebrate the good memories you have of her. Remember that life is fragile and short and should be lived to the fullest. Her memory will forever remain in the hearts of those touched by her presence in their lives.

Nancy is survived by her adoring husband of 51 years, Stephen Benoit of Quinebaug; her brother, David Licastro of Florida; her sister, Marlene Hunter of England; several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Nancy was predeceased by a son, Justin Benoit of Philadelphia, PA.
