Of Chester, VA, formerly of Lackawanna, NY, passed away on August 18, 2025. Beloved wife of the late Thomas J. Herod, Sr.; loving mother of Thomas J. (Ellen) Herod, Jr., and Cathy Herod; cherished grandmother of Mathias Herod and Anna (Chandler) Barfield; daughter of the late Melvin and Vida (nee Handley) Walker; dear sister of Michael (Annette) Walker, Don (Mary) Walker, Harold (Sandra) Walker, Linda (Steve) Jones, Sandra (Carl) Mecum, and Lois Durban; also survived by many loving nieces and nephews; Nancie’s family would also like to thank her wonderful caregiver, Gina Semono. The family will be present on Friday, September 19th from 4-7PM at the (Blasdell/Lackawanna Chapel) JOHN J. KACZOR FUNERAL HOME, INC., 3450 South Park Ave., where a Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, September 20th at 10AM. Interment and Military Honors will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
