Misty Dawn Becker, 44, of Granbury, Texas, passed away peacefully on September 27, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Misty was born on July 10, 1981, at home in Fort Worth, Texas, with the loving care of a midwife, to her parents Henry and Janice Becker. She grew up in Granbury, where she lived her entire life. Misty graduated from Granbury High School in 1999 and attended Tarleton State University.
A gentle soul and quiet spirit, Misty loved the simple joys of life. An avid reader, she could often be found at the local library with her nose in a book, especially her favorite series The Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter. She also had a deep love for music and singing. One of her proudest accomplishments was performing at Carnegie Hall in New York City and traveling with her Granbury High School choir to London.
Misty cherished the beauty of creation, whether through her love of plants, fresh-cut flowers, or her favorite animals—cats, rats, and owls. She had a discerning palate and a gift for recognizing flavors and spices, with salmon being among her favorites. She also adored little trinket boxes, her favorite colors of hunter green and black, and her signature long auburn red curly hair, which everyone admired.
Though an introvert, Misty found joy in meaningful one-on-one conversations and connecting deeply with others. She had a sharp wit, a love for trivia, and a delight in “being right.”
Over the years, Misty worked at Books on the Square, Starbucks, and Schlotzsky’s, where she shared her warmth and thoughtful presence with many.
In January 2023, Misty began her battle with cancer. She fought bravely, participating in three clinical trials, finding purpose in helping further research and education for others.
On September 15, 2025, Misty accepted Christ as her Savior, just 12 days before her passing. With this blessed assurance, her family finds peace knowing she entered into Heaven.
Misty is survived by her loving parents, Henry and Janice Becker; her child Leland Becker, who was the light of her life; Barbara and Darrin Good her sister, and brother-in-law; her nephew Johnathan, and niece Kaylyne, a large extended family, and many dear friends.
Her life will be remembered for her quiet strength, her love of stories and song, and the beauty she brought into the world.
