Michael Travis Rhodes, age 31, of Massillon, Ohio, lost his battle on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital in Canton, Ohio. Though he faced illness, Michael never let it define him he remained strong, hopeful, and full of love until his very last breath.
Michael was born on February 17, 1994, in Massillon, Ohio, to Mike and Ruth Rhodes. He lived a life full of love, strength, and unwavering dedication to his family. Michael was known for his big heart, steady spirit, and deep love for his wife and children. His contagious smile and infectious laugh brought joy to everyone around him. No matter the situation, Michael had a way of making people laugh and lifting the spirits of those around him.
He had a passion for fishing and took great pride in teaching his children. Some of his happiest moments were spent by the water, sharing stories, casting lines, and making unforgettable memories.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 14 years, Angel Rhodes; and their four cherished children, Aubrielle (10), Everleigh (5), McKenna (2), and Michael “MJ” (9 months). Michael was a proud and devoted father. He was also a loving uncle to his nieces, Nalaya, Nadilynn, Kaylie, Karley and Khloe: and nephews, Wayden, Watsyn, Wyatt and Jimmy Jr.
Michael is also survived by his father, Mike Rhodes; and his siblings, Don Rhodes and his significant other Cheyenne Aduddell of Massillon, Ohio, and Glenda Rhodes and her significant other Ronald Dickens of Canton, Ohio; and his grandmothers, Glenda McCune of Massillon and Patricia Rhodes of Canton & many other family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his loving mother, Ruth Rhodes; his brother, Daniel Rhodes; his nephew, Wayden Rhodes; his grandfather; and several aunts and uncles.
Michael will be remembered for his kindness, strength, and the unconditional love he gave to those closest to him. His memory will live on through his children and in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. His laughter, his courage, and the light he brought to every room will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
Calling Hours will be held on Monday, July 7th, 2025 at 5-7:00 pm at Spidell Funeral Home in Brewster
