Michael Dean Brooks Sr., 68, of Hannibal, MO, passed away at 9:24 AM, Tuesday, October 28, 2025, at his home in Hannibal, MO.

There will be no services.

Arrangements for cremation are under the direction of the James O’Donnell Funeral Home in Hannibal, MO.

Michael was born September 27, 1957, in Hannibal, MO to Leonard Brooks and Norma Culp Brooks.

He was married to Brenda Kelso. She survives.

Other survivors include five children, Jason Kaylor of LaGrange, MO, Michael Kaylor of Rolla MO, Corrie Kaylor of Hannibal, MO, Jessica Quinlin of Rose Hill, KS, and Michael Brooks of Wichita, KS; one sister, Kim Brooks Dunn (Jim) of Hannibal, MO; four brothers, Leonard Brooks (Lynn), Rusty Brooks (Dana), Jeffrey Brooks (Christie), and Brian Brooks (Jane) all of Hannibal, MO; and several grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Cheri Brooks and Anita Brooks.

Michael was a graduate of Hannibal High School.

Michael proudly served in the United States Navy from 1970-1972 on the USS Kitty Hawk.

Professionally, Michael retired from Manchester Tank in 2020 as a welder.

Michael enjoyed the simple but most meaningful things in life. Riding his horse, “KC”, and fishing with his best friends, Garrett Quinlin, Fred Gamble, and Willis Gollaher were two of Michael’s favorites. Most of all, he treasured and cherished each moment spent making memories with his family. Michael will be deeply missed.
