Meet Jeni and Butch, lonely hearts and Cats of the Week at Catmandu

Meet Jeni and Butch, lonely hearts and Cats of the Week at Catmandu
Sometimes the path to love takes a few unexpected turns. That’s the case for Butch and Jeni, two sweethearts at Catmandu who recently became solo acts when the cats they arrived with were adopted. Though they came to Catmandu separately, and aren’t a bonded pair, they’ve become the unofficial founding members of Catmandu’s Lonely Hearts Club. And they’re each hoping it’s finally their turn to find furever love.
Jeni is a gentle soul with a big personality. Just 2 years old, this short-haired spayed black female is affectionate and playful, with a soft spot for feather toys and friendly conversations. One of the first to greet visitors, she’s got the kind of purr that lingers long after the petting stops. But while she’s still her charming little self, it’s clear she misses her friend and is feeling the pang of being left behind. She’s more than ready to be someone’s one and only. While she has never lived with dogs and would not do well with small children, she is good with other friendly cats.

Butch, on the other hand, took his time warming up to life at Catmandu. But now that he has, this slightly cross-eyed flame point Siamese mix is stealing hearts left and right. He’s silly, curious, and always getting into something in the most delightful way. Whether he’s playfully chasing shadows or flopping down beside his favorite humans, Butch is the class clown you never knew you needed. Just a little over a year old and neutered, Butch is a normal teenager who likes to nap all day and comes alive at 5 pm. He gets along fine with other cats,  but has never been introduced to a dog. Loud noises and strangers tend to scare him, he would not do well in a household with small children or lots of noisy activity. It takes him a little bit to get comfortable with new people, but he is well worth the small amount of time and patience needed to make him feel safe.

While these two may not be a couple, they’re kindred spirits—each looking for their forever someone. If you believe in second chances and unexpected soulmates, Jeni or Butch are ready to fill your heart (and your windowsill). Micro-chipped and up-to-date on their vaccines, all they need is for Mr. or Ms. Right to come visit them and fall in love.

Meet these lonely hearts who are eager for adoption this weekend at Catmandu.   Catmandu is open Friday – Sunday from 11 am to 4 pm at 1829 Brown Street. We ask potential adopters to arrive no later than 3 pm so they have plenty of time to spend with the cats before adoptions close.
Catmandu is a non-profit organization that receives no government funding or assistance from national organizations. We rely on donations and the generosity of the community to continue our lifesaving efforts. If you are interested in donating or volunteering, please visit our website at CatmanduCC.org. Meow means thank you.
