With heavy hearts, we gather to honor and remember the life of Maxine Estelle Dawn Douthwright, who passed away peacefully after a long illness on September 5, 2025, at the age of 52.
Born in Moncton, New Brunswick, on August 15, 1973, Maxine was the cherished daughter of the late Raymond Walker and Marguerite (Margaret) Walker. From a young age, her kind spirit, gentle humor, and warm smile touched everyone who crossed her path.
Maxine shared 25 wonderful years of marriage with her late husband, Lloyd Allen Douthwright, a love that was strong, true, and filled with laughter. Together they built a family that became her proudest joy. She was a devoted mother to her two sons, Jonathan Steeves (Sarah) and Anthony Steeves (Kaitlyn Jones), and a deeply loving grandmother to Olivia, Paisley, and Ella, who were the light of her life.
She is survived by her siblings—Laura, Timothy, Paul, Edgar, and Michael Walker—who will forever hold her memory close in their hearts. She also leaves behind many beloved nieces and nephews—Sara, Michelle, Santina, Terrie, Cynthia, Kayla, Nicholas, Michael Jr., and Christopher—along with countless extended family members and friends whose lives she enriched.
Maxine’s love for her family knew no bounds. She had a gift for making every gathering special, whether it was a simple Sunday dinner or the joy of Christmas, her favorite time of year. She loved holiday baking, the glow of Christmas lights, and the laughter of singing along—especially to her favorite *NSYNC Christmas song. Road trips, family drives, and time spent together were what made her happiest.
Those who knew Maxine will remember her as a woman who always put others before herself, who loved with her whole heart, and who brought joy wherever she went. Her warmth, humor, and generosity will be missed beyond measure, but her spirit lives on in the memories and love she leaves behind.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at 4:00 p.m., on Route 126, Moncton, New Brunswick. Friends and family are invited to come together, share memories, and honor Maxine’s life.
Maxine’s legacy is one of love, kindness, and family. May we carry her light forward in our hearts forever.
