Mary Vasquez

With deep sorrow and abiding love, we share the passing of Mary Dolores Vasquez, who departed this life on Monday, August 18, 2025, at the age of 90. A longtime resident of Phoenix, Arizona, Dolores left peacefully of natural causes, reunited at last with her beloved husband, Raymond V. Vasquez, in eternal rest.

Born on July 8, 1935, in Prescott, Arizona, Dolores was the cherished daughter of Phillip and Elena Monreal. She grew up in Prescott, Arizona where she attended school and later pursued business studies after high school. In 1955, she married the love of her life, Raymond, and together they built a warm and loving home in Phoenix. Dolores worked with dedication at Motorola and later retired from Westinghouse, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and integrity.

Dolores’s devotion to her community was a guiding light throughout her life. In 1960, she joined the Fraternal Order of Eagles, where she remained a deeply committed and cherished member for 65 years. Her leadership was both inspiring and impactful—she served as Madam President of the Osborn chapter in 1964 and again in 2004, and in 1976, she was honored as Madam President

for the entire State of Arizona. These roles reflected not only her dedication but the profound respect she earned from her peers. Over the decades, Dolores received numerous awards and honors for her tireless fundraising efforts and unwavering service to charitable causes. Her generosity touched countless lives, and her legacy within the Eagles will continue to uplift and inspire.

Dolores’s greatest joy came from her family. She is lovingly remembered by her children, Veronica Marie Neitch (Howard Wayne Neitch) and Raymond Phillip Vasquez (Diana Vasquez). Her legacy continues through her grandchildren: Danielle Shields (Erika Shields), Michelle Waggoner (Bryan Waggoner), Anthony Vasquez (Jaime Luna), and Gabriel Vasquez. She also leaves behind her treasured great-grandchildren: Joseph Neitch, Madeline “Maddy” Dungan, Danika Shields, Leah Waggoner, and Noah Waggoner.

Dolores’s life was a beautiful tapestry of love, service, and strength. She will be deeply missed, but her spirit lives on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
