Mary “Rita” Henry

Mary “Rita” Henry, age 74, of Rockford, IL formerly of Shabbona, IL passed away at Swedish American Hospital on Sunday, September 7, 2025. She was born on February 15, 1951 to the late Lyle and Alberta (Donian) Henry. She spent many years proudly working on her parent’s farm.

Rita was an avid sports fan, especially the Chicago Cubs. She loved her dogs, traveling, growing up on a farm, spending holidays with her loved ones, but above all she loved being a mother, sister and aunt.

Survivors include her children, Angelina Henry and Armani Henry; her siblings, Donna (Robert) Henderson, Dianna (Keith) Kleindl; nieces and nephews, Jennie (Kate), Angie (Aaron), Chris, Kim (Javier), Karolyn, Justin; several great nieces and nephews, and other extended family and friends.

Rita is preceded in death by her parents Lyle and Alberta Henry; her aunt, Vi; her brother, Walter (Flip).

A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, September 12, 2025 at the Nash-Nelson Funeral Home, 1001 E. Garfield St, Waterman, IL. Interment will follow in Saint James Calvary Cemetery, Lee, IL.

Friends may visit from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Thursday, September 11, 2025 at the Nash-Nelson Funeral Home, 1001 E. Garfield St, Waterman, IL.
