Mary Jane Perry

Mary Jane Perry, age 95, died Saturday, August 16th after a long life and a short battle with cancer. Her final days were spent in hospice care at Brookdale Boulder Creek in Boulder, Colorado.

The funeral service will be Saturday, August 30th at St. Marcelline Church, 822 Springinsguth Road in Schaumburg, IL. Visitation will be from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. followed by the Funeral Mass. Family and friends will then drive to the Chapel at All Saints Cemetery in Des Plaines for a brief prayer service and graveside burial.

Mary Jane was the last of her generation. Born in 1930 to Jane and William Cassidy, she was a child of the Great Depression, but always said she had a great childhood thanks to her parents. They were a classic Irish Catholic family with lots of big family dinners and the laughter of friends telling stories around the table.

The joys of her life were her grandchildren, all things Chicago, politics, and most importantly, food. She is survived by her four children, Anne Paape (Dave), David Perry (Alicia), Bill Perry (Veronica), Matt Perry (Merrie), six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Mary Jane will be buried next to her husband Jack Perry and will be surrounded by many close relatives.
