Mary Dobson
Mary Elizabeth Dobson, 73, of Elkin, NC, passed away at her home on June 22, 2025.
Mary was born on August 28, 1951 to the late Floyd Hampton Mankins and Connie Stewart Mankins.
Mary loved her family and her church family. She loved gardening, watching her flowers bloom, sharing her Christian faith with everyone she met. She was very devoted to her Lord and Savior.
She retired from Chatham Manufacturing Company and was employed at Mazzini’s for twenty years.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Larry Dobson, and brother Floyd Mankins.
Those left to cherish her memory are her son Jeff (Vianey) Dobson, daughter Tonya Dobson, Sisters: Edith (Donald) Thompson and Cathy (Bobby) Drumgold, Grandchildren: Meka and Dakota (Maegan) Dobson, Great Grandchildren: Eli Dobson, Blayden Dobson, Russ Dobson and Easton Ayers. Special friends Pam Walker and Sonda Dobson; and special nephew Ronell Choate.
There will be a visitation held Thursday, June 26th from 5:00-7:00 p.m., at Pleasant Union Baptist Church in Dobson, NC. A funeral service will be conducted by Rev. Edward Graham, Rev. Ronald Howell, and Rev. Todd Williams on Friday, June 27th at 2:00 p.m. at the church. She will lie in state from 1:00-2:00 p.m. prior to the funeral service.
