Mrs. Mary Emma Dingle Greer, widow of Abraham Greer, heard the voice of God whisper in her ear; and answered, Yes, I heard you call me, Here I am” peacefully departed this earthly realm on Wednesday, January 1, 2025 at McCleod Regional Medical Center in Florence, SC. Born in the community of Summerton, South Carolina on March 3, 1954; she was the daughter of the late Conner Dingle Sr., and Cora Johnson Dingle.

Since the age of 17, Mary was a lifelong resident of the Bronx, NY. There is where she finished her high school curriculum and attended vocational school. At an early age, she attended St. Matthew AME Church, Summerton SC. Mary was affectionally known, as “Annie Mae” by all who knew and loved her.

While in NY, Annie Mae had successful careers in the hospitality industry to include opening several business opportunities of her own. Annie Mae was a retired federal employee of the Department of Veterans Affairs, Bronx, NY. Annie Mae was

incredibly lively, outgoing and often the one who brings the energy and fun to any event. She easily connects with people and makes everyone feel included.

In 2001, Annie Mae married Edward Carter, who has preceded her in death. Then in 2005, she met her love, Abraham Greer, Jr.

Annie Mae, was a strong willed, loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, cousin and friend. Annie Mae, had impeccable cooking skills and often cooked many dishes for family and friends. If you knew her, you knew she had a genuine heart for

all her nieces and nephews. She supported many of them through high school, college and helped many start careers in NY.

Annie Mae, is the 9th of 10 kids; 6 sisters and 4 brothers. Four brothers, one sister, two sister- in laws and one brother-in-law preceded her in death, Conner Sr. (Inez), Willie, John (Hestelle), Doe, Ida and Lou Bertha (Charlie) Brunson.

She leaves to mourn, a daughter Sharon (Ric)Thames-Simms, 3 grandchildren Tanisha Thames, Ricardo and Kai Simms and 1 grandchild, Isaiah Simms all of Manning, SC and her adopted son Sammie Dingle of the home. She has three sisters, Eva Wright, Charlotte Dingle and Catherine Hines all of Summerton, SC. One Godson Samuel J. Dingle of Bronx, NY and a host of nieces, nephews who she reared as her own and loved dearly, including cousins, other relatives and friends.

Annie Mae death leaves a void in all she has touched.
