Mary Deborah Boehner-Bunge, age 61, of Festus, Missouri, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, August 29, 2025 surrounded by those who loved her. She was born March 30, 1964, in St. Louis, Missouri, the daughter of the late Kathleen (O’Gorman) and the late Joseph Huchowski.
She is survived by her loving husband, Todd Bunge of Festus; Mother in Law, Kay Bunge of St. Louis; her children Ashley (Josh) Outman of St. Louis, Brandi (Michelle) Smith of Barnhart, Chase (Andy Johnson) Boehner of Festus, and Sage (Donna) Boehner of Pevely; stepchildren Tyler (Madeline) Bunge of St. Louis and Madison (Tony) D’Angelo of St. Louis; and 14 cherished grandchildren: Sawyer, Bryar, Pypor, Arbyr, Stryker, Beckham, Quinn, Buckley, Grady, Bella, Violet, Hayes and Jensen. She is also survived by her siblings Joseph Huchowski III of St. Louis, Kimberly (Scott) Fisher of Arnold, and Jeffrey (Laura) Huchowski of Washington, Missouri. She was preceded in death by Father in Law Robert (Bob) Bunge, and granddaughter Kynsir Outman.
Mary was a proud member of Oak Bridge Community Church in Arnold and the Festus Elks Lodge. She loved fishing, playing poker, and cheering on her favorite football teams (but if it was Sunday, you knew better than to interrupt her!).
Above all, Mary found joy in life’s simple things — like time with her husband, children, 14 grandchildren and family. Of course, anyone who tried to skip out on a family gathering quickly learned that “simple” wasn’t exactly an option with Mary. 😉
The world is brighter because of her love and laughter, and it will never be the same without her. She was a wife, mother, grandmother (“Chim Chim”), daughter, sister, and friend, whose presence will be deeply missed.
Visitation will be held Thursday, September 4, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Vinyard Funeral Home in Festus. Funeral services will take place Friday, September 5, 2025, at 10:00 AM at the funeral home, officiated by Pastor Tom Noblitt. Interment will follow at Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens in Crystal City, Missouri.
