Marvin Speciner

Marvin Lewis Speciner, a cherished father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on September

11, 2025, in Mesa, Arizona. Born on September 29, 1950, in Los Angeles, California, Marvin

was a man of wisdom and passion, whose life was a testament to his intelligence and the depth

of his caring heart.

Marvin was the beloved son of Mortimer and Flora (Parton) Speciner. He is survived by his son, Jason Speciner, his daughter-in-law, Cassandra (Pugh), and his adored grandchildren, Shiloh, Hunter, and Quentin Speciner.

Marvin’s journey led him to the University of California, Los Angeles, where he earned a

Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology. His time at UCLA was marked by his musical talents as he

played both the trumpet and French horn in the marching band, filling the air with melody and

spirit.

Professionally, Marvin dedicated his life to the noble calling of a Neonatal Respiratory Therapist.

His work was not just a job but a mission, as he provided the breath of life to the most

vulnerable among us.

A man of faith, Marvin’s life was guided by the principles of Judaism, which shaped his

approach to life’s challenges and his relationships with others. He embodied the virtues of his

faith in every action and interaction.

Marvin’s interests were a reflection of his multifaceted personality. An accomplished

woodworker and fine carpenter, he created pieces that were not only functional but also imbued

with the beauty of his soul. His love for horses and equine activities was more than a hobby; it

was a connection to nature and the majestic creatures he owned and so dearly loved.

Photography was another of Marvin’s passions, providing a creative outlet in the visual arts.

As we bid farewell to Marvin Lewis Speciner, we remember a life lived with purpose and love.

His memory will be enshrined in the hearts of those who loved him, and his spirit will continue to

inspire us all. May his soul be bound up in the bond of life, and may he rest in peace.
