It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Marshall Eugene Bailey, Jr., who departed this life on September 21, 2025, at the age of 78. Born on December 17, 1946, in Henderson County, North Carolina, Marshall’s journey came full circle as he left us in the same beloved community where his story began.
A proud graduate of West Henderson High School, Marshall set out on a path that would become an inspiring testament to hard work and dedication. He enlisted in the United States Army shortly after graduation, serving his country with honor while stationed in Germany. The discipline and integrity he exhibited during his service became foundational aspects of his character.
Returning home, Marshall embarked on a career in the banking industry, starting as a loan officer. His desire to help others quickly gained him respect among colleagues and clients alike. Later, he utilized his talents as an employment counselor at the Telamon Corporation, where he found great fulfillment in empowering individuals to build better futures for themselves.
Marshall was a man of varied interests and deep passions. He cherished quiet mornings spent hunting and afternoons on the water, fishing rod in hand. In moments of leisure, he could often be found immersed in a classic Western film, captivated by tales of heroism and frontier adventure.
Preceding him in death are his parents, Marshall Eugene Bailey, Sr., and Willie Kate Corn Buchanan, who undoubtedly welcomed their son into eternal peace. He is survived by his son, Marshall Eugene Bailey, III; cousins, Barbara and Paul Blaine, and Lane and Cissy Thompson; and other extended cousins and family members. Shuler Funeral Home has the honor of serving the family.
