Kent, WA – Mark-Jason Burgos, 39, of Kent, Washington, passed away peacefully on July 19, 2025, at Valley Medical Center.
Born in Monterey, California, Mark was the cherished son of the late Editha and Alfonso Burgos.
Mark was a kind, gentle soul, renowned for his loving, great sense of humor, and caring nature. He was deeply loved by many and would never hesitate to offer a listening ear, unwavering moral support, or simply his comforting presence to anyone in need. His sincere, gentle hugs and heartfelt “I love you” were a cherished part of his farewells, leaving a lasting warmth in the hearts of those he touched. Mark welcomed people from all walks of life without judgment, truly making him one of a kind.
A true visionary, Mark dedicated his adult life to pursuing his dream and passion for entrepreneurship. He was a successful barber who owned his own shop, a dynamic DJ with a captivating personality, a relatable rapper, and a vibe-curating bartender and waiter. Mark was also the creative designer behind his distinctive “BVSTXS” brand.
The brand name BVSTXS is a clever twist on the Tagalog word BASTOS, which traditionally means “rude,” “gross,” or “dirty.” However, as founder and designer, Mark set out to flip this negative connotation on its head. He reimagined “Bastos” for his streetwear brand, transforming “rude” or “filthy” into a compliment—a mark of urban style rather than an insult. BVSTXS perfectly fuses Filipino heritage with American street culture, creating a unique and bold statement that reflected his own bold spirit.
Mark is survived by his beloved wife, Nary Burgos; his sister, Dulce; his brothers, Fred (Ramel), Luis (Yasmin), and Carl; along with his sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, and several cherished grandchildren from his nephews.
