Mrs. Marie Picarello, 94, of East Haven, CT passed away at home on Thursday, July 17, 2025, with her children by her side.
Marie was born January 22, 1931, in Bronx, NY to Rose and Giuseppe Pisciotto, the eldest of their four daughters – Marie followed by Felicia, Rose, and Josephine. Married to Hector Picarello in October 1948, the pair were companions in love and life for 34 years. They were blessed with five children: Frank, Hector Jr, Joseph, Marie, and Lisa.
Marie spent her life as an elementary school bus Matron at Varsity and ultimately retired in 1993. She found great joy in supporting a wide range of charitable causes, going out with her friends, spending endless hours shopping, and devoting much of her time to her grand and great grandchildren.
Mrs. Picarello was predeceased by her husband, her daughter-in-law Lydia, her sister Felicia Cavallo, and her son Frank. She is survived by her children, Hector Jr, Joseph, Marie (Micheal Jr), and Lisa (Thomas Basil); countless grand and great grandchildren, including Vincent and Luciana Picarello, JoAnne, Joseph Jr, Caroline, Micheal, and Brandon Picarello, Micheal Solimine III, Marie Shampang, and Tonimarie Basil; as well as her sisters Rose Lins and Josephine Plagianos, and many more nieces and nephews.
Marie Picarello’s legacy of unending love and kindness lives on in the memories of her abundance of friends, family, and loved ones.
Visitation is Friday, July 25, at 8:30 am at Sisto Funeral Home in Bronx, NY. Funeral services will be held that same day at 11:30 am at Saint Benedict’s Roman Catholic Church in Bronx. NY. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Saint Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
