Hudson-Marianne Elizabeth (Turcotte) Riley, 80, loving wife, devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, passed peacefully surrounded by family on Thursday August 7, 2025. She is survived by her two daughters and their husbands, Shannon Murphy & Chuck of Clinton; and Kelly Strickland & Wayne of Westboro, and three grandchildren, Paige and Reganne Strickland, and Charles “CJ” Murphy. She leaves her husband’s extended family, James Eisner & companion Penny Spellman of Hudson; and Christine Cavanagh of Hopedale; sister-in-law Eileen Eisner of Daytona, FL; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. She pre-deceased her husband of 50 years James “John” Riley, her brother, T. Phillip Turcotte and sister-in-law Frances Turcotte.
Born in Clinton, MA on April 4, 1945, Marianne was the second child of Theodore “Teddy” and Mabel Turcotte. Marianne was a proud graduate of the Clinton High School, Class of 1962. She met the love of her life, James “John” Riley, in 1970 and the couple later married in April of 1971. Together they raised their family in Hudson for 50 years.
Marianne worked for 20 years at Digital Equipment Corp. in Northboro and later with Moore Business Forms in Marlboro, until retiring in 1997. She was a devoted caregiver to her husband when he received a heart transplant in 1998.
Always active, Marianne was a long-time volunteer for the Hudson Youth Center and the Boys and Girls Club of Hudson Bingo nights, and, along with her family, was a member of the Nashoba Valley Apple Corps Camping Group. She was a devoted fan of the Boston Red Sox and her “boyfriend” Neil Diamond. The Riley family wish to thank the Memory Care CNA team at The Branches of Marlboro for the never ending support and love they showed Marianne and their family over the past few years.
Calling hours will be held from 4 until 7PM on Wednesday, August 13, 2025 in the Philbin-Comeau Funeral Home, 176 Water St., Clinton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10AM on Thursday, August 14, 2025 at St. John the Evangelist Church, 80 Union St., Clinton, with burial to follow in St. John’s Cemetery, Lancaster.
