Maria del Sagrario Perez
Maria del Sagrario Pérez “Itos” Bohórquez, 41, born in Salinas to Maria del Sagrario Perea and Gregorio Pérez, lived life to the fullest and always found a reason to smile with her beaming optimism and love for life. She graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara and Majored in Linguistics. Her love for education and her children took her to La Gloria Elementary in Gonzales where she taught Folklórico dance and 4 th grade Dual Language Immersion (DLI). She followed in her mother’s footsteps and pursed her passion for her children and community which led her to becoming the PTA President, volunteered for numerous community events for seniors, and helped to facilitate the Nativity play at the St. Theodore Catholic Church. She passed away on October 18, 2025, but not without leaving behind a lifetime of adventures and memories with her many friends, family members, and husband. Sagrario is survived by her husband Jonathan Bohórquez, children Gregory, Samantha, and Nathaniel Bohórquez, Sister Millie Pérez Camargo, niece Azul Camargo and nephew Arath Camargo, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Sagrario’s family and friends will gather for services at St. Theodore Catholic Church in Gonzales, California on October 24, 2025 at 2pm.
