Maria Grace Bonaiuto, 73, of Beverly, Massachusetts, died peacefully on Thursday, August 28, 2025, as she slept. Born in Beverly, she was daughter to the late Joseph and Maria Rose (Serra) Bonaiuto.
For Maria, family came first. She was a devoted daughter, sister, aunt, and great-aunt. Maria enjoyed making crafts of all kinds with her sister Betty, especially crafts for Christmas fairs, traveling to Disney World with her parents and siblings, and cheering on her niece and nephew at all their sporting events.
Professionally, for many years, Maria helped create the success of Briscoe Middle School alongside Principal Jack Lapsley, running the front office like the driven dynamo she was known to be. Whether students had misbehaved, needed help, or just needed a friendly face, she was there for them. Beyond her work with the students, she also worked closely with Principal Lapsley, offering him invaluable help in his role as a member of the Curriculum Advisory Board of the National Association of Secondary School Principals.
She is survived by three brothers: Frank Bonaiuto of Beverly, Joseph Bonaiuto and his wife Elaine of Beverly, and Steven Bonaiuto and his wife Lisa of Winter Garden, FL. She also leaves behind her beloved niece, Grace Standley, and nephew, Nathan Bonaiuto. She was predeceased by her sister Betty Bonaiuto of Beverly.
Her funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary Star of the Sea Church, 253 Cabot Street, Beverly, Saturday, September 6th at 10:00 a.m. Visiting hours will be at the Campbell Funeral Home, 525 Cabot Street, Beverly, on Friday, September 5th from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Burial will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Beverly.
