Margarita Yates

Margie Yates, 83, of Mesa, Arizona, passed away peacefully at her home on August 25th, 2025.

Margie was born on May 12, 1942, in Pirtleville, Arizona, to Jesus and Anita Camacho. She attended Morenci High School, in Morenci AZ. She attended nursing school at Los Angeles City College in California. She retired from Mesa Public Schools as the Bookstore manager at Mesa High School. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend, whose life was guided by faith, love, and service. For the past 51 years, she was a faithful parishioner at Christ the King Catholic Church in Mesa, where she found great joy and strength in her community.

A woman of many talents and a generous heart, Margie loved to paint, volunteer, and help others in any way she could. She volunteered at Christ the King for many years with HOPE & RCIA. She was especially devoted to children, serving as a foster mother to more than 20 children over the years, in addition to raising her three beloved children.

Margie is survived by two of her children, Joseph A Yates (Spouse: Sasha Yates) and Anita J Aguinaga (Spouse: Jorge Aguinaga) and by her six grandchildren: Jennica, Drake, Andrew, Cabriel, Jasper, and Gigi. She also leaves behind her cherished great-granddaughter, Matilda. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Christine Diane Martinez. (Spouse: Juan Martinez)

Margie touched countless lives with her compassion, creativity, sense of humor and unwavering spirit. Her legacy of love and selflessness will live on in the hearts of all her friends and family.
