Our hearts are heavy as we share the news of Margaret Anne Scott’s passing.

Margaret “Maggie” Anne Scott was born October 14, 1932 in Decatur, IL and died on August 16, 2025 at Accolade Healthcare long-term care facility of Peoria, IL.

Maggie was preceded in death by her parents, John Alexander Hollis and Lorene Hollis, her husband Claude V. Scott, Jr. and son, Kirk Scott. She is survived by her three children, Kathy Scott, Bruce Scott (Patti) and Jane Scott (Leigh), three granddaughters, Sarah Drummond (Ron), Lindsay Nevells (Max) and Claire Lansford (Kyle). Maggie was blessed with six great-grandchildren, and will be missed by sister Jane Foval (Tom), several nieces, nephews and friends.

Maggie completed her Bachelors of Education from ISU in 1972 after having taken time away from college to raise her children. She taught elementary music and fifth grade in Chillicothe, district #321 for over 25 years.

Maggie was known for her love of music and intelligence. She began playing piano when she was five years old, and continued playing even over the past year. Maggie endured much heartache in her 92 years and kept her faith strong throughout.

A visitation will be held at Weber-Hurd Funeral Home at 1107 N. 4th St., Chillicothe, IL on Friday, September 5, 2025 from 6-8 p.m. There will be a funeral service at St. Michael and All Angels Anglican Church at 4911 N. Knoxville Ave. in Peoria at 10 a.m. on Saturday, September 6, 2025. Memorials in Maggie’s name may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
