Margaret Merritt
Margaret Merritt age 85 of Douglas, Ga, passed away peacefully at vista park following an extended illness. She was born on September 11th, 1940 to the late Ivey Fussell and Eula Harper Fussell.
She is survived by Three Daughters; Connie M. (Jeffery Lewis) Smith of Brunswick, Ga, Karen M. (Eddie Mac) Dix of Ocilla, Ga, and Donna L. (Stanley) Hurley of Collins, Ga. Step-Daughter; Karen Batten of Douglas, GA. Grandchildren; Carly A.(Spencer) McGovern of Reidsville, Ga, Derrick Smith of Douglas, Ga, Bridget N. (Jason) Wilkes of Brunswick, GA, Kayla M. Thornton of Atlanta, GA, Jennifer Lea Smith of Atlanta, GA, and Jeremy D. Smith of Douglas, Ga. Great-Grandchildren; Kinslee Wilkes, Jayce Smith, Kalissa Thornton, Kaliya Thornton, Jaida Lott, Laik Lott and Macie Lott. One Niece; Terri Fussell.
She is preceded in death by her parents; Ivey Fussell and Eula Harper Fussell, Three Husbands; Carl Mitchell Merritt, Jimmy McDonald, and Virgil Batten.
The Family will receive friends Wednesday, October 1st, 2025 at Sims Funeral Home in Douglas, Ga from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM.
Funeral Services will be Wednesday October 1st, 2025 at 11:00Am at The Chapel of Sims Funeral Home with Rev. Scott Smith Officiating. Interment will follow at Griffin Cemetery in Ambrose, Ga.
Active Pallbearers will include; Ronnie Harper, Wade Purvis, Gree Harper, Verlyn Harper, and Spencer McGovern.
