Margaret Grillo

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Margaret Grillo, age 77 of Brooklyn, NY, passed away on July 25, 2025 in St. Luke’s Hospice peacefully.

Margaret was born on August 6, 1947 to Jack and Lucy Grillo. She grew up in Brooklyn, NY and worked as a secretary for Parkville Funeral Home. Margaret was known for being a kind hearted, compassionate, nurturing and charismatic women. She enjoyed shopping,cooking and spending time with her family.

Margaret is predeceased by her first husband, Kenneth Sumrall whom she had children with. She is also survived by her second husband, Nawaz Butt. Margaret is survived by her brother, Anthony Grillo, and his wife, Joanne Grillo, as well as her sister, Jean Cacace, and her husband, Vincent Cacace. Her daughters Lucy Sumrall, Antionette Hedglin and her husband Harry Hedglin. She had six grandchildren Leslie Mendez, Miquelina Caraballo, Jose Goicuria, Madison Goicuria, Micayla Goicuria and Teresa Goicuria. Lastly, her great grandchildren Kenneth and Jayce Correa and Jesslyn Mendez. Her nieces and nephews Joanne, John, Anthony, Jeannine and Jacqueline.

Margaret will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. The family wishes to thank everyone for their ongoing support during this difficult time.
