Beloved daughter, sister, aunt and friend.
Passed away June 4, 2025 after a lengthy illness. In spite of her recent challenges, Marcia looked and did her best every day.
Marcia was born October 14, 1951 in Toledo Ohio. She attended St. Clements grade school and graduated from Whitmer High School in 1969. Immediately following graduation she moved to Buffalo, NY where she began her career in retail. In 1976, Marcia made Rochester home, making lifelong friends and enjoying a long career with Xerox Corporation, retiring in 2012.
Marcia was the youngest of 4 children, always remaining close to her family; whom she visited with frequently. Family time together always brought abundant laughter; often “laughing ‘til we cried” (it’s a Romer thing)! Her family will forever miss moments like these. Marcia had a close circle of friends who referred to themselves as “the broads” with whom she created all kinds of mischief.
She is survived by her sisters, Diane Moore and Janice Jackson; nieces and nephews, Delayne (Ken) Shaw, Danette Zeunen, Charles (Rose) Romer, Joel Jackson, Jane (John) Mueller, Kurt (April) Romer; great nieces and nephews, Kenneth Jr. and Kyle Shaw, Megan Bush, Jay Zeunen, Carla Torres, Chelsea Jones, Nicholas Romer, Amanda and Clarissa Romer; nineteen great-nieces and nephews; and her very dearest friends, Barbara Newhouse and Cheri Parnell.
She is predeceased by her parents, John “Red” and Dolores (Eckel) Romer; brother, Alden “Butch” Romer; great-nephew, Michael Shaw; and two special ladies whose friendship meant the world to her, Midge Glick and Lindsay Crouse.
Marica’s family wishes to thank her wonderful neighbors for their kindness, especially Rich, Gail and Ed.
Friends may call to the funeral home (2305 Monroe Avenue) Tuesday, June 10th from 4 – 8 pm. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in Marcia’s name to the American Lung Association.
A Memorial Service will be held in Toledo, OH for family at a later time, date to be announced.
