Lynn Vita

Lynn H Vita, beautiful, sensitive, kind, and thoughtful, passed away on June 13th at age 71. Lynn was born on July 24th, 1953, to Muriel and Philip Heaney. She earned a bachelor’s degree from Adelphi University and worked in the insurance industry for many years. Lynn was the proud mother of two wonderful sons, whom she adored beyond measure. Conveniently (and perhaps strategically) she served as President of the PTA for many years – an especially helpful position whenever her boys found themselves in a bit of trouble at school. She was committed to her community and dedicated her time to supporting students, teachers, and fellow parents. Known for her festive and creative spirit, Lynn had a themed outfit for every holiday and always flew a matching holiday flag on her front flagpole. She loved crossword puzzles, fresh flowers, playing the piano, listening to music, and was a friend to all animals. Living in a house full of men, Lynn worked hard to keep them all in line – a task she handled with humor, strength, and grace. She cherished family trips with her husband and sons, especially getaways to the Catskills, Vermont, and Atlantic City, where they created countless memories together. She is survived by her husband of 49 years, John, and their two children, Michael and Matthew. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Chris. Lynn’s warmth, energy, generous heart, and unwavering love will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
