Louise Thomas

Louise Thomas age 89 of Ashford, AL passed away Tuesday September 9, 2025 at her resident surrounded by her loving family.

Mrs. Louise Anthony Thomas age 89 fell asleep in death peacefully, Tuesday Sept.9, 2025.

Louise Anthony Thomas was born on June 5, 1936 in Shorterville, Alabama to the late Sam Anthony and Mary Lee Allen Anthony. Louise had an identical twin sister her name was Lois.

Louise was joined in marriage to John H. Thomas on Sept.3, 1955. They were blessed with three children, Harold, Dennis, and Juanita. They celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary 6 days before her passing.

Louise, John and the children moved to Utica, New York in July of 1962. They remained there until their retirement in 2005. They relocated to Topeka, Kansas and then to Ashford, Alabama to care for her father and her twin sister.

Louise was a faithful and dedicated member of Jehovah’s Witnesses of RosewoodWiregrass Congregation in Dothan, Alabama. She symbolized her dedication to Jehovah on February 11, 2012.

Louise is preceded in death by her parents: Sam and Mary Anthony; her twin sister: Lois Teague; two brothers: Travis and Joseph Anthony; her son: Dennis Thomas; grandson: Dennis, Jr.; two in-laws: Charlie and Coddie Thomas; two sisters-in-law: Bertha and Louise; four brothers-in-law: James, LeAndrew, Billy, and Ezekiel; and one nephew: Gregory.

Louise leaves to mourn her passing, her husband: John H. Thomas; son: Harold Thomas (Addie); daughter: Juanita Watson (Curtis); grandchildren: Tobian (Stephanie), Roneka, Latoya, Michael, and LuWanda; fifteen beloved great grandchildren; two sisters: Alice Ware and Mae Ella Barber; two brothers: Otis and James Anthony; and a host of nieces and nephews too numerous to count (all of which held a special place in her heart); special friends: Annabelle Dorsey of Utica, New York and Jan James of Dothan, Alabama and other family members and friends.
