Ramona Lorraine (Alcala) Serrato, 79, of Sterling passed away Monday June 23, 2025 in Sterling. Visitation will be from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm Sunday, June 29th at Tennant Funeral Home. Vigil Services will follow at 4:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 am Monday, June 30th at St. Anthony Catholic Church with Father Jerry Rohr celebrating. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery.
Lorraine was born on December 2, 1945, in Sterling to Jose and Pascuala (Gonzalaz) Alcala. She went to school at Franklin Elementary, Sterling High School, and graduated from Northeastern Junior College. After completing college, she worked as an administrator for the Social Security Administration. She also worked for the Soil Conservation Service, and Sterling Regional Medcenter. Before retiring, she was a paraprofessional for the ESL program for RE-1 Valley School District.
On July 20, 1969, she married George Serrato in Sterling. They were married for 55 years. Lorraine enjoyed traveling, bowling, and gardening. She also liked to go dancing, listen to live music, and attend festivals. No matter what she was doing, as long as she was with her family, she was happy. They meant the world to her.
Lorraine is survived by her husband George; daughter Lori (Rick Converse) Serrato of Sterling; son Stephen (Tracie) Serrato of Santa Clarita, CA; sister Anna Nunez of Fort Morgan; many cherished nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents Jose and Pascuala; sisters Margaret, Jenny, and Mary; brothers Al, “Chief”, Joe, and Frank.
Memorials may be made in Lorraine’s name to St. Anthony’s Catholic Church.
