Lonnie passed away peacefully on October 1, 2025 at his home in Cresson, Texas surrounded by his loved ones.
He was born on July 11, 1953 in Fort Worth, Texas to Lonnie Howard and Geneva Colley. Lonnie grew up with a strong sense of family, faith, and community, values that guided him throughout his life.
On March 30, 1973 he married Debbie Lafontaine and together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and devotion. He was a proud father, a cherished grandfather and a beloved great-grandfather. Family was always at the center of his heart, and he leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, sarcasm, and wisdom.
Lonnie served in the United States Army from 1970 to 1973. He then worked in the construction field for a number of years until an injury kept him from doing what he loved. That’s when his shift to stay at home full time paw-paw began.
