Lois H. DiLulio

Lois DiLulio, age 96 of McCandless Township, passed away peacefully in her home on Saturday, April 5, 2025.

Lois was born on December 10, 1928, to Francis and Ruth Helmstetter in Pittsburgh, PA. Despite the difficulties of growing up during the Great Depression, Lois often reflected on fond memories of sharing her childhood home with her three sisters, Ruth, Betty, and Audrey, all of whom preceded Lois in death.

After graduating from St. Benedict’s Academy in 1947, Lois spent several years working at the Atlantic Refining Company, spending time with her friends, and using her talents to create and sell beautiful holiday crafts and ceramics.

In October of 1950, Lois eventually married Earl DiLulio, when he returned home after serving his country in World War II. Together they raised four children, who went on to bless her with seven grandchildren, followed by five great-grandchildren. Lois truly cherished her role as a grandmother and great-grandmother. Her favorite pastimes included playing board games, teaching them songs to sing for her, and showing them how to get the dust out of every nook and cranny in the house!

Although her family always came first, Lois was also a devoted friend. She remained close with many of her childhood girlfriends well into her 80s and 90s. From writing letters to long phone calls, and even Facebook, Lois thoroughly enjoyed keeping in touch, and proudly prioritized the people who meant the most to her.

Lois’ family and friends will fondly remember her kind heart, sense of humor, love of music and dancing, and above all, her knack for serving food hot enough to burn your tongue, every single time.

Lois is survived by Earl DiLulio, her loyal husband of 74 years. She also leaves behind her children – Earl (Dianna) DiLulio, Debbie Roman, Linda (Dave) Oglesby, and Anthony (Barbara) DiLulio; her grandchildren – Christopher (Nicole Willey) Roman, Jackie Roman, Sean and Ryan Oglesby, Anthony DiLulio (Laura Gruber), Ashley (Joe) Zaso, and Matthew (Brittany) DiLulio; and her beloved great-grandchildren – Jacob and Isaac Roman-Willey, Henry and Olivia Zaso, and Dominic DiLulio.

Per Lois’ wishes, there will be no public viewing. A private family ceremony will be held at Christ Our Redeemer North Side Catholic Cemetery on Wednesday April 9, 2025 at 11:00 AM.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Hope Hospice, 3356 Babcock Blvd., Pittsburgh, PA 15237 or at the link below, as the family wishes to extend its heartful gratitude to the nursing staff for their kindness and compassion in caring for Lois.
