Lindal Davis

Lindal Gale Davis, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 16, 2025, at the age of 84. Born on December 2, 1940, in Timothy, Tennessee, Lindal lived a life marked by dedication, adventure, and love.

Lindal’s career began early when he joined Cranston Print Works while still in high school. His professional journey led him to a fulfilling role as a lineman with AT&T, where he worked diligently until his retirement at the age of 58. A proud graduate of Flat Rock High School, Lindal answered the call to serve his country, enlisting in the United States Army. As a lineman stationed in Augsburg, Germany, from July 1, 1959, to June 18, 1962, Lindal exemplified the values of duty and honor.

An avid traveler, Lindal, alongside his cherished wife Drucilla, explored the vast landscapes of the United States and Nova Scotia with his brother Aaron and sister-in-law Sue. His passion for life extended into his later years when he discovered a love for running that eventually blossomed into an affection for bicycling. Remarkably, Lindal rode the Mountains to the Sea Trail twice at the ages of 78 and 79 and often embarked on journeys exceeding 100 miles a day, even into his early 80s. When not riding his bike, Lindal could be found outside working in his yard or enjoying a quiet evening camping under the vast skies.

Lindal was a man of faith, a devout Christian who embodied the essence of a true Southern gentleman. His unwavering dedication to his family was evident, particularly in the special bond he shared with his grandson Cody, whose birthday celebrations Lindal never missed. Known for his affable nature, Lindal was a big talker who loved meeting people, and he truly never met a stranger.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Grady Ward and Lattie Vocal Bilbrey Davis. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Drucilla Rollins Davis, whom he met on a blind date and married in July 1962; daughter, Melody Levi; grandson, Cody Levi; siblings: Aaron “Gary” Davis (Sue), Faye Stanley (Alan), and Brenda Robertson (Herman); step-siblings: Jimmy Cannon (Etta), Allen Cannon, and Brenda Wells (Frank), along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and close friends.

A celebration of Lindal’s life will be held at 5:00 PM on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, at Mountain View Baptist Church, with Rev. Sam Beddingfield officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the physicians and staff of the Charles George VA Medical Center and Four Seasons Hospice for the compassionate care Lindal received. Additionally, they thank his bicycle riding buddies for the memories and good times shared with Lindal.

In Lindal Gale Davis, we remember a life well-lived, a legacy of kindness, strength, and a spirit of adventure that will forever inspire those who knew and loved him.
