Linda Jeanne (Lawson) Eslick was welcomed into glory on November 10, 2025, with family at her side. She was born in Tacoma, WA on May 13, 1947, to Ralph and Mildred (Jeanne) Lawson. Raised in the Tacoma area, she worked at her father’s private airport and soloed in a Cessna 150. She attended Washington State University in Pullman, WA, where she met William (Bill) Eslick, her husband of 57 years. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in English in 1969 and continued graduate work while Bill finished his degree.
As an Air Force wife, she followed Bill from Texas to California to Germany, where daughter Tara was born in 1975. She taught in the American school at Spangdahlem, Germany. Leaving the military in 1975, the family moved home to Bill’s family’s farm in Dayton, Washington. Linda loved raising her daughters in the small town farm setting. Daughter Heather was born there in 1978. Linda taught at Dayton High School during this time. Dayton was home until 1986 when Bill was hired as a pilot for American Airlines. The family moved to the Dallas/Ft Worth area where Linda and Bill resided until they moved to Pecan Plantation, Texas in 2000. She enjoyed traveling to many foreign destinations as well as crisscrossing the USA with Bill in the airplane she helped to build.
Linda’s faith journey was given a solid foundation by a small group of friends that adopted her in Dayton. She was active in Stonecroft Ministries for many years and loved discipling women in her neighborhood. She began many Bible study groups which still continue to grow and multiply.
Linda was known as an encourager and always had a smile and a compliment. Even in her final days, she would compliment and encourage those who were taking care of her. She dearly loved Jesus, her kids and her grandkids!
She is survived by her husband Bill, daughters Tara Ellwanger (Eric) of Allen, TX, and Heather Dolan (Mike) of Jackson, TN, sister Juanita Borstead of Novato, CA, and brother Gary Lawson of Olympia, WA, and granddaughters Allison Ellwanger (19), Megan Ellwanger (15), Hayden Dolan (10) and grandson Sean Dolan (16).
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11am, Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at Acton Methodist Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Acton Methodist Missions or Brazos Pregnancy Center.
