Linda Burg

Linda Kaye Burg, 76, of Springfield, passed away at 12:27 am, Tuesday, September 30, 2025, at Springfield Memorial Hospital. She was born January 1, 1949, the daughter of Charles Edward and Mary Margarite Grigsby, the first child born in Springfield, Il. in 1949. She is survived by daughter, Yvette Cundiff of Springfield, brother, Gary Grigsby of Chatham, former husband, Kyle Burg, and several stepchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Linda worked for several years at Federated Funeral Directors and retired from the State of Illinois as a Systems Analyst. She enjoyed ceramics, sewing, jewelry making and was a master of many crafts. She had a quirky sense of humor and a sharp wit. Linda spent several years as a Youth Group Leader and a member of the choir and bell choir at Third Presbyterian Church in the 1980’s. She was referred to as “Mom” by countless children, teenagers and adults throughout her life. Linda began college at the age of forty and obtained an Associate’s Degree in computer programming. Linda enjoyed spending time with her daughter and friends, many of whom were neighbors at Trustwell Senior Living.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
