Lillian T. Harris (nee Kruk), of Calgary, AB, passed away on Friday, July 4, 2025, at the age of 94 years.
She was born on March 16, 1931, in Winnipeg, MB, and was the youngest of eleven children, growing up in a bustling household that instilled in her the values of family, resilience, and kindness. Her formative years in Winnipeg shaped a generous spirit that touched everyone she met.
Lillian married her husband and together they relocated to Calgary to raise their five children. She created a warm, welcoming home where holidays, Sunday dinners, and shared laughter were cherished traditions. Her kitchen was a gathering place for all her family and friends.
After her children were grown, she joined Kmart in Calgary, later moving on to Calgary Co-op and Walmart. She retired from paid work at the age of 84, but her dedication to community didn’t stop there. From age 84 to 89, she volunteered at Heritage Park, sharing her warmth and her knowledge of the local history with visitors.
Lillian loved an evening out at bingo with her daughter, celebrating every small win and sharing friendly banter with fellow players. She also enjoyed the occasional trip to the casino. Family game nights and card games were her special brand of fun at home.
She was a loving mother and grandmother who celebrated every milestone with pride and joy. Her legacy lives on in the generous hearts and strong bonds of her family. Though we will deeply miss her presence, her laughter and guidance will echo in family stories for years to come.
Lillian is survived by her five children, Billy (Colleen) Harris, Bonnie Harris, Allison Harris, Christine Underhill (Don Moston), and Robert Harris; and eleven grandchildren, Nicholas, Greg, Scarlett, Kyle, Karleen, Kory, Dylan, Dallas, Iven, K-Lee, Alyx, Danielle, and Sam; as well as a growing number of great-grandchildren, Elliott, Kadence, Kaari, Kaliyah, and Kai. They remember her as a devoted matriarch whose love wove generations together.
For those wishing to honour Lillian, consider sharing a favourite story, a photo in a memory book, or plant a tree or flowers in her memory.
