Leonard LeRoy Starwalt, 94, husband to the late Esther Starwalt, passed away Saturday, September 27, 2025, in Lexington, Kentucky. Leonard was born on February 28, 1931, to the late Emery and Sarah Starwalt in Oxly, Missouri. Leonard was a devoted and hardworking man who dedicated 32 years of service to Johnson’s Control before retiring. He also served as a pretrial officer for Scott, Bourbon, and Woodford Counties. A proud Kentucky Colonel, Leonard carried his strong work ethic and sense of service throughout his life. His greatest passion was hunting, a pastime he enjoyed well into his 80s. Leonard also cherished simple moments, like sharing breakfast with his buddies at McDonald’s. Above all, he was a loving family man who treasured his time with those dearest to him. Leonard will be remembered for his dedication, his kindness, and the love he had for his family. He will be deeply missed.

Leonard will be lovingly remembered by his two sons, Bruce (Brenda) Starwalt of Georgetown, and Gary Alan Starwalt of Stamping Ground, one daughter, Deborah Lynn Starwalt of Florida, two grandchildren, Bradley (Tara) Starwalt of Lexington and Chelsey Starwalt of Georgetown, and lastly, his two great grandchildren, Latray and Kimyona Starwalt of Lexington.

Besides his parents and his beloved wife, he was proceeded in his passing by his seven siblings.

A visitation will be held, Thursday, October 2, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Tucker, Yocum and Wilson Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow right after at 6:00 PM
