Leonard C. Kroemer, age 95 of Clarence, met our heavenly father on Easter Sunday April 20, 2025, surrounded by his loving wife and daughters. Visitation will be held at the church from 9:00 AM until service time. Burial will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery.
Leonard was born July 10, 1929 in Lowden, Iowa to Arthur and Clara (Bunge) Kroemer. He married Joanne Sander on August 6, 1960 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lowden.
Survivors include his wife Joanne; daughters Shelly (Lynn) Ahrendsen of Clarence, Suzanne (Larry) Russell of Clarence, and Denise (Adam) Frahm of Marion; grandchildren Jace (Brittany) Ahrendsen, Becca Ahrendsen, Stephanie (Adam) Kaefring, Branden (Katie Fields) Russell and Mitchell (Haley Sackett) Frahm; great grandchildren Raeleigh and Brooks Ahrendsen and Henry, Vera, Clara, and Margaret Kaefring; and sister Elaine Kroemer of Robbinsdale, Minnesota.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister Doris Kruckenberg; in-laws Herb and Bertha Sander; brother-in-law Gale Sander; and sister-in-law Donna Sander.
Leonard was a lifetime member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Lowden, where he was baptized, confirmed, and held various offices in that tenure. He was also in the men’s and mixed choirs. Leonard served on the Walther League District board, Trinity Lutheran School board, and was a founding board member of camp Io-Dis-E-Ca. Leonard was also a Cedar County Farm Bureau member and Cedar County Pork Producer. No one was a stranger to Leonard (Lenny), and he truly enjoyed singing, bowling, Cubs, Packers, playing cards, attending his grandchildren’s activities, and later working in the garden with Joanne. Leonard attended Trinity Lutheran School and was a Lowden graduate of 1947. He was a farmer by trade, but also held jobs at Pruess Elevator and Wal Mart in Tipton.
Leonard’s family would like to thank the Clarence Nursing Home, Above and Beyond Hospice, Pastor Redhage, and Chapman Funeral Home for the wonderful care and compassionate support.
