Larry Cress

Larry Wayne Cress, 76, beloved father and ‘papa”, life-long resident of Granbury, passed away unexpectedly early on December 23, 2024, in Granbury.

A memorial service celebrating his life will be held at 10 A.M., on Monday, February  10, 2025, at the First Baptist Church, 2815 Lipan Highway, in Thorp Spring, Texas.

Larry was born on March 18, 1948, in Granbury to the late Beauford and Katherin Cress. He dedicated his life to helping and caring for others through acts of kindness and compassion. He enjoyed outdoor activities including taking care of his lawn and arrowhead hunting. Additionally, Larry enjoyed music – particularly playing his guitar. He will always affectionately be remembered for being a loving and devoted “papa” to his grandchildren.

Larry is survived by his daughter’s, Paige and husband Jonah Fortney, Emily and husband Robert Romero, Savannah Cress, Amelia McCradic Thomas and Lindsy and husband Angel Flores; his long-time companion, “Edith” Cress; by numerous grandchildren; and by his brother, Michael and wife Cindy Cress; his sister, Linda Freeman; and by his nephews, Derek and Isaac Cress.

In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death

by his uncle, Scott Cress.
