Kimberly Renee Shannon Williams was born on Sunday, April 26, 1987, to Josephine Shannon and David Gillespie. Kimberly transitioned to be with the Lord on January 28, 2025.

Kimberly graduated from Commerce High School in 1985. She later earned a degree in Criminal Justice from Athens Technical College.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Taylor, and son, Trent; her grandparents, Howard Shannon Jr. and John (Eunice) Gillespie; her aunts, “Nanny” Hazel Burns, Lois Gillespie, and Delores Walker; and her uncles, Olin Shankle Gillespie, Rodney Shannon, Ralph Shannon, Marshall Shannon, and Eric Teasley.

Kimberly leaves to cherish her loving memory her husband, Montrey Tyrone Williams; one son, Treymon Elijah Williams; one stepson, Demarion Williams; one stepdaughter, Zanovia Williams; her dedicated mother and stepfather, Josephine Shannon Dicks and John Dicks Jr.; and her father, David L. Gillespie (Shirley).

She is also survived by one stepsister, Naomi Nicole Shannon; five stepbrothers, Travis A. Dicks, Jeremiah Clark, Roderion Shannon, Elijah L. Shannon, and Josiah Shannon; one grandmother, Willie Mae Shannon; and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins, including Theresa A. Maxwell, Julia Wiley (David), Gloria Owens (Johnny), Melissa Shannon, Arthur Shannon (Sarita), Yvonne Teasley (Eric), Renee Shannon, Danny Maxwell Sr., Lizzie Bell Rucker, Betty Ann Rucker, John Lee Gillespie, Kathleen Gillespie, Charlie Joe Gillespie, George Gillespie, Johnnie Mae Dicks, and Katherine E. Dicks.

Kimberly loved the Lord. She joined Holy Bethel Church in Commerce, Georgia, and later became a faithful member of Melvin Hill C.M.E. Church in Carnesville, Georgia. She actively served in the Youth Choir, Praise Team, Christian Youth Fellowship, and the Elberton District Youth and Young Adult Academic Bowl Team. As an adult, she continued her service as a Missionary, Youth Advisor, Vacation Bible School Teacher, and Youth Drama Coach.

She remained a dedicated member of Melvin Hill C.M.E. Church. Even after she became ill, she continued to serve the Lord with gladness. She participated in the Back-to-School Giveaway, cared for the homeless, and took part in the Trunk or Treat and Breast Cancer Awareness Program at St. Mary’s C.M.E. Church in Elberton, Georgia.
