Kenneth “Ken” Hanford, 68, of Peru, passed away on October 24, 2025 at OSF St. Anthony’s Medical Center in Rockford.
A Celebration of Ken’s life will take place at later date. Mueller Funeral Home in Peru is entrusted with arrangements.
Ken was born in Rockford on April 3, 1957 to Charles and Catherine (Williams) Hanford. He graduated from La Salle-Peru Township High School and then served in the United States Air Force for four years. He went on to become a police officer with the City of Peru and retired in 2010. Ken then went on to become a Deputy Coroner for La Salle County until the time of his passing.
Ken married Dolores Wylepski in 1992. She preceded him in death in 2017.
Ken is survived by his daughter Gwen Hanford of Peru and his sister Barbara Simpkins of British Columbia, Canada.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.
