Kazimierz Banach

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Kazimierz “Kaz” Banach, 69, of Fuquay-Varina, N.C., who passed away on September 27, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, October 3, 2025, at St. Bernadettes Catholic Church, 1005 Wilbon Road Fuquay-Varina.

Kaz was born in Poland on August 6, 1956, and immigrated to the United States with his family in 1963. They settled in Rochester, NY, where Kaz spent most of his life.

He is predeceased by his father, Marian Banach, and his nephew, Richard Banach. He is survived by his beloved mother, Eleonora; his son Kazimierz Banach (Rosie) of Denver, CO; his daughter Sheilah Mykins (Tony) of Rochester, NY; grandchildren Jakob, Halie, and Damien; and great-grandchild Kyrie. He is also survived by his brother, Chet Banach (Cathy) of Myrtle Beach, SC; his sister, Krys Todaro (Leon) of Fountain Hills, AZ; and many cherished nieces and nephews.

Kaz grew up enjoying the simple pleasures in life—camping, bowling, playing pool, and sharing a beer with friends and family. After retiring, he moved to North Carolina, where he found a close-knit community that shared his love of motorcycles. He spent his final days surrounded not only by family but also by his partner and love, Shirley Smith.

Kaz will be remembered for his sharp sense of humor, generous spirit, and magnetic personality. Always the life of the party, he never hesitated to offer a helping hand to anyone in need. He was a devoted father, son, brother, uncle, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
