Kay Marie Krueger Of Walworth

Kay Marie Krueger, 71, of Walworth, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 30, 2025, at Mercy Janesville Medical Center after a courageous battle with leukemia. She was born on September 15, 1953, in Elkhorn, to Robert Harold and Phyllis Etta (Jones) Brown.

Kay dedicated her life to her family and community. She loved raising her children and caring for countless animals—especially her chickens—on the family’s small farm outside of Walworth. Deeply involved in her children’s lives, Kay served as a 4-H leader and as the general leader of the Walworth 4-H Club for 30 years.

For 42 years, she was affectionately known as “Miss Kay” to the many students she safely transported to and from school as a bus driver. Her compassion extended to animals as well; through her work with the Adopt-A-Paw program, she made sure that no animal was left without a home or love.

To family and friends, Kay was “Ma”—a loving, guiding presence who was never afraid to offer advice. She enjoyed gathering with others for card games, cooking and was famous for her pumpkin bars.

Kay is survived by her husband of 47 years, Bert Krueger, whom she married on August 26, 1978, in Delavan; her children, Cheri Krueger, Robert (Stephaine) Krueger, and Joseph (Olivia Kovarik) Krueger, goddaughter, Misty (Jason) Young; her beloved grandchildren, Gracie Mae Johnson, Triptin, Teelin, and Wyatt; her brothers, Milo (Shirley) Brown and Terrence Brown.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 21, 2025, at the Darien American Legion Post, 24 Market St., Darien.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Valley of the Kings, W7593 Townhall Road, Sharon, WI 53585, or online at votk.org.

Arrangements are entrusted to Toynton Funeral Home, (262) 275-2171.
