Kathrynn Lilac

Kathrynn Ruth Lilac passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 16, 2025 at home with loving family at her side. She was 77.

Born on July 6, 1948 in Troy, daughter of the late Thomas Eric and Doris Ruth (Garrison) Hallum. She is the widow of the Paul “Butch” Lilac.

Kathy was a graduate of Stillwater High School, class of 1966. She worked for AXA Advisors Financial Group as Northeast Regional Director and was an owner and operator of Lilac Mobile Home Park. In earlier years she was very active in the community serving in many capacities in the Stillwater Democratic Committee. She was an EMT with Stillwater Rescue Squad and was an active volunteer at the Stillwater Community Center and the Blockhouse and was even a member of the Stillwater Blockhouse Militia. Kathy was also active with the Stillwater Players and the Stillwater Athletic Booster Club.

Kathy is survived by her children, Jeffrey Paul (Deanna) Lilac of Clifton Park, Bruce Thomas (Opal) Lilac of Stillwater and Carrie A. (Brian) Sabourin of Stillwater as well as 11 grandchildren, 1 great granddaughter, her sister Dianne (Bill) Rudolph, her inlaws Bob and Jan Lilac and Mike and Patty Lilac and several nieces and nephews and her beloved canine companion, Oliver.

In addition to her parents and husband Butch, she is predeceased by her brother Charles Robert Hallum.

Calling hours will be on Wednesday, August 20, 2025 from 11-2pm at All Saints on the Hudson Church, Stillwater. Funeral Mass will be at 2pm with burial to follow in St. Peter’s Cemetery. A gathering will follow at the American Legion Post 490 in Stillwater.
