Kathryn “Kathy” Murray

Kathryn “Kathy” Murray, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 21, 2025, in Granbury, Texas, at the age of 80.

Born on September 25, 1944, in Decatur, Texas, Kathy lived a full and vibrant life centered on family, faith, and service to her community. She spent many years working in shoe sales, where she built strong relationships and made a lasting impression with her sharp mind and unmatched work ethic.

Kathy was a proud Master Gardener and an active volunteer, always giving her time generously to causes close to her heart. Her witty sense of humor, honesty, and loving spirit touched everyone she met. She was a woman of deep faith, whose strength and kindness guided generations.

Kathy is survived by her daughter Karen (Rick); grandchildren Ria (Freddie), Tatum (Krysta) and Justin (Halie); and her cherished great-grandchildren Kaleigh, Jayda, Kaedynce, Kymrie, Jace, Tatum, Kasen, and Paisley and her brother Rusty (Carolyn).

She is preceded in death by her parents, Maggye and Max Pipes, her loving husband Bob Murray, and her youngest daughter Robyn Cawyer.

Her legacy of generosity, honesty, and love lives on in the many lives she touched.

Services will be held at First Christian Church in Granbury, Texas on July 28, 2025 at 1:00PM. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Lake Granbury Master Gardners, a community volunteer organization or First Christian Church in her honor.
