Kathleen Schafer

Kathleen Schafer age 75, passed away in her sleep at Autumn Lake Assisted Living in Beloit, Wisconsin on September 20, 2025. Kathleen was born to Joseph and Rosemary (Pfau) Schafer on February 2, 1950 in Grand Forks, North Dakota.

Kathy grew up in North Dakota, Minnesota and Wisconsin. She graduated from Milton High School in 1968, married Greg Steinmentz and later divorced.

Kathleen belonged to St. Mary Catholic Church and was very involved with the church. She was also involved in the Boy Scouts in which her son Allen was a member of. 

Kathy loved to read, paint, draw, and was very crafty. She was a crossing guard for Milton West Elementary School for many years and retired in 2020.

Kathleen is survived by her daughter Monica (Micheal) Dickins, son Allen Schafer, granddaughter Rhiannon Dickins, siblings Carol Schafer, Joseph Jr, Schafer, Jackie (Jeff) Eggen, Barbara (Bruce) Spreen, Mary (Jim) Slowey, Lois (John) Severance, Theresa (Ed) Mathews and Linda (Rich) Jass. She is further survived by many nieces and nephews. Kathy is predeceased by her parents, her brother David Schafer, niece Lisa Slowey , and nephew Johnny Severance.

Burial will be held at St. Mary Catholic Cemetery at a future date. The Albrecht Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, Milton is assisting the family with arrangements.
