Kathleen M. Farrell, of Highland Falls, NY, passed away on December 6, 2024, at the Kaplan Family Hospice Residence in Newburgh, NY. She was 86 years old. The daughter of the late Mary (Nulty) and James Farrell, she was born in Ireland in 1938.

After emigrating to the United States, Kathleen joined the Sisters of Mercy order, lived in California and New Jersey, and worked at the exclusive Colony Club on Park Avenue in Manhattan, NY. Later in life, she earned a teaching degree from Hunter College, New York, and left the East Coast to work as a teacher in New Mexico before moving back to New York to be closer to family members. Kathleen felt a close connection to nature and enjoyed a spiritual life. Her pastimes included reading and writing stories and visiting her extended family in the United States and Ireland.

Kathleen is survived by brother Seamus Farrell of Birmingham, England; sister-in-law Eileen Farrell of Westwood, New Jersey; and eleven nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers Bob Farrell, Terence Farrell, Patrick Farrell, and sister Anna Farrell.

Services will be private. Cremation will take place at Cedar Hill Crematory in Middle Hope, NY.
