In Loving Memory of Karen Anne Dreen

Karen Anne Dreen, age 74, of Henderson, NV, passed away peacefully at her home on September 13, 2025, surrounded by close family and friends.

After graduation, she relocated to Palo Alto, California, where she worked as a family court caseworker for the Santa Clara court system. It was there she met her future husband, attorney Robert “Bob” Jette Jr. Bob often remarked that, although Karen was soft-spoken, he would never want to face her in court. The two were married in 1990 and welcomed their daughter, Marissa, in 1993. Karen was a devoted mother who planned countless adventures to share her passions with Marissa. Together with Bob, the family enjoyed travels to Hawaii, Florida, Wisconsin, Texas, and England.

Due to unexpected health challenges, Karen retired in 2009. When Bob retired in 2020, the couple relocated to Henderson, Nevada.

Karen was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt and friend. She loved children, dogs, Chinese food, and sweets—especially chocolate. She also enjoyed cooking, baking, and shopping, never passing up the chance to visit TJ Maxx.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Max Dreen and Suzanne Dreen Bander; her in-laws, Robert and Victoria Jette; as well as her grandparents, aunts, and uncles.

Karen is survived and will be deeply missed by her husband, Robert Jette Jr.; daughter, Marissa Jette, and Joseph Walker; sister, Amanda (Dwight) Hinerman; sisters-in-law, Toni Jette and Vicki Ann Jette; brother-in-law, Joseph (Swe Swe) Jette; stepfather, Sheldon Bander; five nieces and three nephews; numerous great-nieces and nephews; cousins; and many dear friends. Among them are Hosanna and Darek D. Costilla, and Latrice and Fred Smith—Karen’s caregivers, who became like family.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Karen’s memory to alexslemonade.org funding children’s cancer research and offering support for affected families.
