June A. (Norton) Kingsley, 97, of Queensbury, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 9, 2025, at the Glens Falls Center, Glens Falls.

Born on August 2, 1928, in Glens Falls, she was the daughter of the late Jessie and Nellie (Mitchell) Norton.

June attended Glens Falls High School then started working at Woolworths Counter. Later on, June was employed in a typing pool at the Glens Falls Insurance Company, retiring from the Claims Department after 45 years.

June was in a bowling league, earning several championship wins. June was a world traveler who loved to explore independently as well as with the Moreau Senior Center. While June and her husband Harold, did not have children of their own, June was always going out of her way to spend quality time with her many nephews, nieces and “The Rice Boys”. Besides spending time with her family, she enjoyed traveling, cooking, gardening, camping, sewing as well as taking avid notes in anything she was reading as well as dropping off books to others.

June is predeceased by her parents, Jessie & Nellie (Mitchell) Norton, her husband, Harold Kingsley; her brother, Donald and his wife, Mary (Lalor) Norton; her brothers-in-law, LeRoy B. Akins Jr. and Donald Kingsley as well as her sister-in-law, Lillian Johnson Mabb.

Survivors include her sister, Phyllis (Norton) Akins, of Hudson Falls; sister-in-law, Jean K. Giorgianni of South Glens Falls; her nephews: Chris (Paula) Norton of Queensbury, Edward (Dora) Norton, of San Antonio, TX, Luke Norton (Doug Hill) of Broadalbin, Matthew Norton of Glens Falls, John (Michele) Norton of Glens Falls, Donald (Shelley) Norton of Tampa, FL, Sean (Stephanie) Akins of Hudson Falls, Lee (Laurie) Akins of Gulf Shores, AL. and “da niece” Suzanne (Jeff) Washburn of Glens Falls, in addition to many great nieces and great nephews who she loved dearly.

At the family’s convenience, there will be a private burial service at the South Side Cemetery.
