Julissa (Jully) M. Tocco, age 90, found peace on Sunday, August 24, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Julissa was born August 6, 1935, in Popple River, WI to her parents, Francis and Marie (Griedl) Flanigan.
Julissa is survived by her children, Patrick (Kathleen) Tocco, Pamela (Ted) Froechte, and her step-daughter, Jody (Dean) Probst; five grandchildren, Zachariah (Stephanie) Dimick, Aron Dimick, Camilla (Brandon) Johnson, Kassidy Tocco, and Kayla Tocco, two step-grandchildren, Josh and Travis Probst, 3 great-grandchildren, 4 great step-grandchildren; two brothers, Patrick (Betty) Flanigan, Timothy (Joan) Flanigan. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Francis and Marie Flanigan.
She was also preceded in death by her Beloved Husband of 50 years, Patrick Tocco. She is now happily in Heaven by his side.
Julissa worked as a medical secretary at Sage Nursing Home for 18 years. She then furthered her education at WCTI, where she earned a diploma for medical transcription. She then became a medical transcriber for Aurora Medical Center retiring in 2006.
Julissa’s first love was Family. Her children and grandchildren were held close to her heart. Her philosophy on living was simple… “it’s a beautiful life”, and “Everyday was a gift”. She never missed a holiday or a birthday gathering.
Her brother Patrick shared the same birth date, though 4 years apart. The family just celebrated her 90th birthday, as well as her brother Patrick’s 94th birthday, where children, grandchildren, nieces, nephew, and cousins from all over the country, gathered to celebrate their special day.
Playing Farkle with her son-in-law, Ted was an activity she never turned down. She loved gambling at Ho-Chunk & Oneida Casinos, with her daughter Pam. She also enjoyed various river boat gambling outings with her son Patrick.
There were many games of cards played with Jody, family & her late husband, Patrick.
Julissa loved gardening, bouquets of flowers and cooking -especially the fresh produce grown in her granddaughter, Cami’s garden. Cami treasured learning gardening skills from Grandma, and continues gardening to this day.
She loved to be on a lake and enjoyed fishing but most of all, she just loved being outdoors and getting her vitamin D – (Sunshine).
Memorial Service for Julissa will be held at the Shimon Funeral Home (824 Union St., Hartford, WI 53027) on Friday, August 29, 2025. Visitation is from 3:00 p.m. until the start of service at 5:00 p.m.
